CLAUDIA RETAMAL is a visual artist born in Valdivia, Chile, has developed her artistic work in the areas of painting, engraving and collage, among other areas combining in her work oil, watercolor and acrylics, as mixed techniques, creating within her subjectivity what she calls an “imaginary imprint” because he improvises without a preconceived idea and does so spontaneously.

TRAINING
She has worked in specific technical workshops with Chilean artists such as HIM Rivera (abstract painting), Paz Rios Aldea (oil), Pablo Schalscha (Collage), Clau-dia Menéndez (stop motilón), Raúl Ciudad (Bonzo, 2D animation), Ana María Ramos (Engraving) and Lionel Jager (Oil) in France.

Graduated from the Catholic University of Chile (engraving and watercolor).

Graduated from the Esalen Sur integrative Gestalt school, training that has oriented his work towards the area of self-knowledge and therapy.

She has developed her work for more than 20 years between exhibitions, animations, editions and samples in Cuba, Spain, France, Italy, Argentina and Chile.

RESIDENCES

LIONEL JAGER WORKSHOP, final show at L´Hôte BUREU EN BLOIS France.

The work of this artist revolves around the search for languages ​​that connect immediate intuition with the chance of signs, chromatic beauty and shapes devoid of roughness, it flows containing elemental emotions of the human being, the therapeutic warmth that immerses the spectator with themselves their spirituality.

Relevant is her iconography of the inner woman, expressed in flowers in her “imaginary” symbol of the vital emergence of her characters.

Technically his path intertwines abstraction with recognizable figures in emotional contexts of introspection, not everything is said in the obviousness of the forms, under the approach of the HERE AND NOW precept based on Gestalt.

For the last 6 years, she has settled in a beautiful place in Brittany, France, where she actively participates in various cultural activities, with the collagist artist Gaëlle Leroux, with whom she has exhibited and shares a workshop to which she has been invited, in addition to exhibiting in the « Du Passe par Tout gallery » among others.

Her production is divided into what she prepares in France and exhibits in Miami, where she has participated with the curatorship Milagros Bello, and Hernan Gamboa Gallery, by the curator and visual artist Rafael Montilla, and invited to work in the workshop of the Venezuelan sculptor Ivan Castillo.

At the moment, she’s in Miami preparing his second series of imaginary women, which has been widely accepted by the public and collectors, due to its eclectic aesthetic that comes from freehand strokes and spontaneous figuration, with which he will participate in WORLD BEAT GROUP STUDIOS and in France the South Trip Stand in Paris, at the Carrousel fair (March 31 to April 2, 2022) outside of the Louvre muséum un Paris.
